.: Reflexology / Side effects
Reflexology is an approach with no risk.
However in some cases precautions are needed, amongs others,
for pregnant women, during the the first 16 weeks of pregnancy
as well as for people with circulatory and lymphatic system
related problems or those using medication, drugs or alcohol
or with contagious illnesses.
While the body attemps to recover by getting rid of toxins,
certain reactions (headache, diarhea, nausea, sinus congestion,
frequent urination) can be expected, but they usually dissipate
within twenty four hours after treatment.*

It is clear that reflex massage does not replace medical
treatment. In fact both are complementary. Reflexology, however
has the advantage of being able to act ahead to prevent ailments
before they appear.
